Yangon Calling III: Barry Saunders

Barry Saunders, of Kiwi country pioneers The Warratahs fame, will headline the next of a series of Paekakariki events supporting the civil disobedience movement in Burma.

Saunders was the winner of the Best CountryArtist at the 2020 Country Music Awards in collaboration with Delaney Davidson. He has six acclaimed solo albums under his belt and toured Aotearoa with fellow country music stars Tami Neilson and Marlon Williams

The country music-themed event on August 8th will see Barry supported by Paekākāriki's mistress of Appalachian gothic, Helena Faust.

The Burma Support Paekākāriki group have been running fundraising events since April. Money raised from this event will go directly to communities resisting military rule and providing supplies to medical workers working to alleviate the current wave of Covid-19.

Curry dinners will be available for $10, cash at the door.
Doors open 6.30pm for dinner. Show 7.30pm
