A PLACE TO BURY STRANGERS

In 2013 A Place To Bury Strangers blew the roof off Aucklands Laneway Festival with a blistering set of melodic noise. In startling contrast to the twee, indie pop being bandied around the other stages, their electrifying set featured elements of chaotic danger, dramatic theatre, shards of glorious swirling feedback, and a flying bass, leaving a sonic imprint burnt into the memory of anyone who witnessed their first Auckland show.
.
The Brooklyn based trio features New Zealander Dion Lunadon (formerly of North Shore punk band Nothing At All! and of course The D4) on bass. Founding member Oliver Ackermann sets-the-controls-for-the-heart-of-the-sun on stunn guitar and a myriad of self built and designed pedals , with Robi Gonzalez (Okkervil River, Jubilee) on drums.
They have traveled extensively through North, Central, and South America, South East Asia and Japan, Eastern, Central and Western Europe, Australia and all points in between.

Call it psychedelic-noise-space-rock ... but one thing for certain it R O C K s.

Oliver Ackeramnn says “I think that we are a psychedelic band. A lot of our music is based on moments of having some sort of psychedelic, out-of-body experience, or taking your mind to somewhere beyond where it normally is.”

Their new album Transfixation was released earlier this year on DeadOcean records. The band are touring constantly through 2015.

The Auckland show will be recorded by Radio NZs Music 101.
