The Waiheke International Soul Orchestra

Two of the biggest live acts from Waiheke Island join forces for one night of amazing music.

W.I.S.O.

W.I.S.O. (aka the Waiheke International Soul orchestra) are a 9-piece electronic|soul|drum’n’bass|funk|percussion collective all the way from the beautiful island of Waiheke.

They've supported Kiwi acts such as Yoko Zuna, Sorceress, Latin Aotearoa, P-Diggs and Sunshine Sound System, and they’ve headlined the Okere Falls Winter Festival in Rotorua and The Cavell Leitch Jazz and Blues Festival at the Blue Smoke Room in Christchurch.

They’re releasing their first batch of music from their debut album at the end of 2017, with recordings completed by veteran NZ engineer Nick Abbott (Robert Plant, The Datsuns, Goldenhorse).

Music-lovers can expect the full power and might of a tight live band, that includes stunning front women Dione Denize and Bianca Du Bont on vocals, shrouded in the rich tapestry of the electronic/soul/drum’n’bass/funk/dub and percussion collective.

W.I.SO. are embarking on a series of shows across the country to support their album release, including Leigh, Auckland, Raglan, Wellington, Christchurch and Nelson.

Joining W.I.S.O. at Leigh Sawmill are fellow Wahekians and sure-fire party-starters Radio Rebelde.

The Latin Ska powerhouse of 12 musicians reflects the diversity of Waiheke Island. A bunch of wild Latinos, English, French and Scots, they create one of the most unique and powerful Latin Ska sounds in New Zealand.

Radio Rebelde’s live shows are energetic and powerful, and they guarantee to have the audience dancing as if it was the last party on earth.
