It’s a slow starter this one, with almost flamenco styled gats starting things off, it’s not until track 2 that the band’s hand begins to show.
It's an album of light pop number made for mass audience but still indie friendly; think Arcade Fire and Mercury Rev, Elbow.
There’s something of a British sound to this, (the bands from Brooklyn), and an almost later year Beatlesk feel coming through. Like a subdued marching band, very vertical rhythms.
It’s quite a colourful listen, and once you get grounded with it its very charming
