This was my first listen to The Helio Sequence, the not so new band on Sub Pop.
There was something instantly familiar with it. Kinda Arcade Fire/ Grant Lee Buffalo / Roy Orbison, but with something refreshing about it.
It's got a great sound, good room reverberation on opener 'Lately', and nice dreamy element to the song. It just drifts on till the end, much like the rest of the album.
Their sound is very loosly indie rock/ slight electric and parts just strait out folk.
It keeps you listening, and is very appealing at first attempt.
A good album.
