This is the second album presented by the Long Blondes and it’s a far cry away from their more indie rock beginnings.
Opener Century sounds like an opening for Jean Michel Jarre epic, then leads in with a very dance-floor friendly bassline.
And this is what this album was intending to achieve, and in many ways they have.
It's got the right tempos and layout but it's lacking a little bit of the punch needed to really cut through at high volume.
Still, it’s good seeing a band strive out of their comfort zone, and only good things can come from that.
