Noisy pricks from Christchurch, IPSWICH, have managed to strong arm MUZAI Records into bringing them up from the South Island sooner rather than later to play Auckland during NZ Music Month. The suckers that the record label are, they decided to do such a thing - but relented on the 300 vinyl to be pressed along with this one off show.
In all seriousness though...
The trio recently put out their inaugural MUZAI release, Live in Dunedin, as pay-what-you-like download and 5.25 floppy disc. The artwork, by Daniel Blackball Alexander, has been sought after so much he's doing prints of it also, and having premiered Haze through 95bFM's Pitching Session, have received glowing reviews... just not printed yet....
They are joined for their jaunt up to Auckland by fellow MUZAI bretheren:
WILBERFORCES, who at this point in time are sizing up a South Island tour in August 2012 alongside more shows in the North Island this year (and working on other things - videos, songs, t-shirts) and are always a highlight to be seen live - from opening Big Day Out to having a song included in a recent NZ movie (allegedly)
THREAT.MEET.PROTOCOL, who have completed recording duties for their debut EP to be released on cassette tapes (actually dubbing over old Jive Bunny and the Master Mixers tapes, now the trend has died down in Katikati) and finally amassing larger crowds through their ramshackle, angry, acerbic, nice-words-for-shit-throwing-moments live sets.
Doors at 8:30pm at The Lucha Lounge (it's their birthday also - so bring cake for The Darko Team), $10 entry, first band on at 9:30pm in all honesty.
