Ancient tongue and wild contemporary groove
Euro Soul features medieval and traditional song from Spain, the Judeo and Celtic lands, with original pieces and works by contemporary composers such as Ralph Towner, Luciano Berio, de Falla and Mike Nock.
A powerful statement of the feminine in contemporary jazz/world fusions, Carolina’s formative years on the London jazz and contemporary music scene permeate her work. Her music combines sensual ECM flavours with those of the East, lyrical relevancy, beautiful melodies and exotic grooves.
This performance for the Creative Jazz Club will comprise traditional Spanish and Sephardic songs due to appear on her forthcoming CD release early 2011.
