Native Sons formed in 96 and are a 6 piece band and have been ripping up stages for the past 10 years at New Zealand festivals like Sound Splash, Parihaka, Tribal Pride, Tainui Showcase, Waitangi day celebrations, Maori side Tour, with the likes of big names such as Third World, Katchafire, Kora, Cornerstone Roots, Zion Hill, Knights of the dub table, Black Seeds, House of Shem, Scribe, Whirimako Black, to name but a few.
The me...ssage in our music is about being proud of our culture here in New Zealand and Uniting the many cultures we have. There are no colour barriers in Native Sons. We write songs about unity, balance, respect, loving our children, protecting our youth, Fathers and Mothers stepping up to be role models for our children of the future.
We have had singles on the Conscious roots albums such as Got No Love For Negativity and Hand in Hand.
Singing and performing about our love for Aotearoa and its people is an addiction.
Supporting on the two Auckland dates is 8 piece dub-hop supergroup YEBIISU, who have recently released the acclaimed Piha EP and will be proudly opening for Native Sons.
