He launched his own imprint, Bassweight Recordings, in 2006, because of the ridiculous amount of great New Zealand dubstep that was emerging at the time. Olie launched Bassweight Recordings with New Zealand’s first ever dubstep release. Discovering and bringing to the world artists such as Optimus Gryme, Organikismness, Consequence, Helixir, P vans, RQ, along with numerous others, Olie Bassweight has proved to be an undeniable force in the world of dubstep / electronica. Support for the Bassweight Recordings has been immense, with backing from some of the biggest players in the game over the last few years.
