Tiger Translate Wellington features an urban, edgy, and a bit under the radar line up of musicians and artists interpreting the theme ‘Metropolis’ in an East meets West, revel in the mess, kind of vibe.
Local musicians starring in Tiger Translate are Adi Dick Summer Puha; Julien Dyne, Rikki Gooch and Parks; Scratch 22; Orchestra of Spheres; Electric Wire Hustle Sound System, The Jewell School and DJ Alphabethead alongside DJ Zoloo from Mongolia.
Visual artists like Dripnz and Eeks from Manky Chops, Mike Heynes, Gabby O’Connor, Bek Coogan and John Lake will transform the Opera House in collaboration with Mongolian artist Orkhontuul B, leading Vietnamese artist Linh Trantrung, and Song Yang from China.
Since it’s inception five years ago at the Transmission Room in Auckland the Tiger Translate event merging East and West practitioners has built an ethos of artistic and experimental collaborations in cities all over the world. Now it's Wellington's turn to join the Tiger Translate party and roar.
