The Ministry of Folk puts on intimate live performances in a beautiful old hall halfway down Dominion Road. The venue has cabaret-style seating and you can BYO drinks and snacks.
The Ministry of Folk is excited to welcome Marika Chia and Adam Ogle.
Marika comes from a large musical family and has been playing the violin since the age of 4. Her career started with her family band but since then she has worked with major artists such as Lauryn Hill, members of SOL3 MIO, Albi & The Wolves, Jordan Luck, Written By Wolves. She has toured globally performing in stadiums and at festivals. Marika will be accompanied by the mercurial Adam Ogle on DADGAD guitar and mandolin and we are guaranteed a spellbinding performance from this awesome duo.
Equally exciting will be the chance to hear College Hillbillies - an Auckland swarm of wandering minstrels. They have an original style that sways somewhere between Celtic rock and Americana.
This Supergroup are at their best live. Expect great songs, solid grooves and awesome musicianship. Not to be missed.
As usual, your hosts HOOP will start things off with new songs and selections from their extensive indie folk back-catalogue.
It's going to be an awesome evening.
Doors at 7.00pm and performances will start at around 7.30pm.
BYO drinks and snacks.
