Misheard Records, Strange News Touring, and SPECK COMICS present Kiriata me Puoro, an animation-meets-music festival taking place at Double Whammy in Tāmaki Makaurau on the 16th of November.
It’s time to smash the arts, animation, and music scenes of Tāmaki Makaurau into one mighty shindig of an alternative arts exhibition. Auckland Zinefest’s Best Of The Fest/Best Comic Zine winner SPECK COMICS has joined forces with the newly minted Misheard Records and Strange News Touring to launch Kiriata me Puoro, a one-night mini-festival extravaganza of animation and music.
Three of the most innovative bands to come out of Tāmaki Makaurau in recent years have been paired up with animators across the motu, collaboratively developing stage visuals for a series of unique live sets accompanied by spectacular animated displays - telling stories, accompanying music, and immersing the audience into a weird multimedia art exhibition that expands upon what small gigs in Aotearoa could be.
