Its Rip it Up Magazines 35th Anniversary this June and theyre celebrating at MUM with a bunch of fun loving party bands!
Janine and the Mixtape is a fresh-as singer songwriter from Auckland who writes bangin pop beats and - in our opinion anyway - is about to blow-up.

Loui the Zu is similarly new to the scene but you wouldnt think so giving the hype hes been generating from his slick brand of alternative hip hop. He destroyed the 95bFM Fancy New Band showcase and will totes do the same thing this weekend at Cassette. You can listen to a bunch of his tracks over here: http://soundcloud.com/zuisdope
And finally, homoerotic two piece Spring Break are going to bring the party home. Ryan McPhun from The Ruby Suns and James Dansey of The Sneaks don denim short shorts and basically have a massive party bromance on-stage. Cool.
DJs Andrew Tidball and Rekkit providing excellent pre and post band sounds, too!
alternative,
art/noise,
pop
