Pioneering Improvising reedsman FRODE GJERSTAD! has been active in Adventurous new music for 40 years playing with such innovators as Derek Bailey, John Stevens, William Parker, Johnny Mbizo Dyani, Rashid Bakr, Hamid Drake, Peter Brotzmann. This is his first visit to Aotearoa!
PAAL NILSSEN-LOVE toured NZ last year as drummer with awesome power trio THE THING. He is Norways leading modern drummer and collaborates regularly with Mats Gustaffson, Peter Brotzmann, Neneh Cherry, Sten Standell, Lasse Marhaug and Ingebrigt Haker-Flaten.
Jon Rune Strøm is one of Norways leading young double bass players, this is his first visit!
