Geoff Ong is releasing ‘Implications,’ the second single and music video from his debut EP ‘Pictures’ on 4 August 2012! Having already received airplay on C4, Kiwi FM, and bFM for his first single and music video, ‘Well, this is Awkward,’ Geoff has played shows all over Auckland with many prominent local artists, including Ruby Frost, The Checks, The Earlybirds, and The Artisan Guns.
The music video for ‘Implications’ finds Geoff taking part in a quirky, offbeat story, which builds to a grand finale with a huge, choreographed dance number featuring around 50 dancers! The upbeat, soul-inflected song, with its bold horn lines and catchy melodies, perfectly complements the lighthearted mood of the music video.
“The whole project has been such an amazing experience,” said Geoff. “It’s completely beyond my wildest dreams of what could have been achieved, and I’m so grateful to everyone who took part.” Geoff was privileged to receive a grant from Zeal and Skycity to cover a large proportion of the costs of producing the video, awarded through an online selection process. The single was recorded, mixed, and mastered by Geoff (who also played all the instruments) in his bedroom in Auckland.
