After the much-acclaimed release and tour of Up Here For Dancing, Tono is putting on a jumbo sized Auckland show and an economy class South Island leg before heading to America, merica, merica, merica for a month.
The Wine Cellar and Whammy bar party will be a joint effort with Christchurch's T54, and will include the most interesting live acts both bands could think of.
For the South Island shows Tono will be stripping songs from the album back to the form they were written in - solo on guitar, taking as a traveling companion a 60s japanese semi-hollowbody guitar. He'll also be playing new, lyrically dense songs about such characters as Ponsonby cocaine dealers, nihilistic surgeons and pubescent skateboarders.
