Mighty Mighty will rock to the sounds of the salty sea on Sat 27 Oct as Auckland-based folksters Bond Street Bridge dash south for one night only. They come to share their songs of high seas adventure, the exploits of Sir Francis Drake, Robert Falcon Scott and the redoubtable Ernest Shackleton, CVO.
They are joined by that crew of scurvy ruffians the noble and ancient Wellington Sea Shanty Society (Lake of Urbantramper and Vorn of, well, Vorn) who will holler and howl their way through some of the most eye-poppingly melodious nautical odes to have graced the walls of the mighty Mighty Mighty since the last time they raised the roof up there.
D Burmester will bring the whole thing back to the dusty shoreline with their sweet southern sounds, taking you back to the country via the disreputable dockside and bringing old boots out onto the floor. Saturdays don't come sweeter or more salty in this old harbour town!
