New single causes Tom Jones like reactions
Auckland band These Automatic Changers, release a new single on 10 November which will have even the most ardent of hipsters off their Raleigh 20s and tapping their designer moccasins in time with the band’s general awesomeness.
‘Under Arrest’ is a riff-centric anthem which defines the band and will have listeners wanting more.
We’d had a few whiskeys when we wrote this,’ says singer Solomon Cole.
‘When I played it back the next day my hangover was cured and I realised that I might be joining Dave Dobbyn on winery tours in the near future. It just stood out like a pair of our drummer’s old undies so we turned it up to 11.
The next step was to figure out exactly how to turn our blazing talent into something non-rock gods would appreciate, and judging by the banging gigs we’ve had, I think it worked.
The band has been lucky enough to get award winning producer Andrew Buckton on board and the results are hot.
I played the final mix to my girlfriend the other night, says Solomon. She just stood there screaming and crying and threw panties at me like I was Tom Jones….it was surreal.
The single is the precursor to a live show at The Lucha Lounge - Friday November 16, 1 York Street Newmarket Auckland where the band promise to rock the venue to its core.
