Its Cassettes Fourth Birthday on November 16th (we know were getting on), which also happens to be at the beginning of summer, so were celebrating with Hawaiian Tropicana, a pinacolada, spring break-fuelled party with some of Aucklands most fun live bands!
Fruity, tropical drinks specials, decorations, swimming pool, sauna, yacht, The Beach Boys...well, maybe not all of this but it will still be awesome because all of these guys (below) are playing and its just $10 on the door or $5 with a 95bFM b-c
ard!
Ill wear a Captains hat to make up for the lack of yacht, k.
Suren Unka: Suren Unka has risen to prominence pretty quickly over the course of 2012 with excellent live performances jam-packed with ethereal, atmospheric electronica. Dont let all that emotion fool you though because Suren can, and will bring the party come November 16th.

Boycrush: The side-project of Ruby Suns member Alistair Deverick, Boycrushs homoerotic sound was honed when Deverick took part in the prestigious Red Bull Music Academy. Expect candy-coloured drum sticks, floral t-shirts and some of the best pop this side of The Venga Boys.

Surf Friends: True to their name Surf Friends play rowdy Californian rock n roll and considering the theme of this party, we cant think of a more apt act to play.

Randa: rapper / beat-maker / general up-start Randa has kind of blown up in the second half of this year with her precocious, hilarious and pretty accomplished tunes. She also mentions Eddie Vedder in one of her raps which makes the 13 year old me (and kind of the present day me too #shame) very happy.

Sherpa: Sherpa released their excellent debut album Lesser Flamingo earlier this year and have followed that up by playing all over the country, all the time and releasing excellent videos for the likes of single Turtles (https://www.youtube.com/watchv=pHIw0HshPl8).

Dictaphone Blues: these guys also released a full length album, Beneath the Crystal Palace earlier this year and we highly recommend it for its swirling avant-pop, the likes of which single Radio Heart, exudes (http://dictaphoneblues.bandcamp.com/).
