MULHOLLAND, LYDIA COLE AND GREAT NORTH FIRE UP THE BBQ FOR A SWEET SOUNDING SUNDAY AFTERNOON AT THE KINGS ARMS
SUNDAY 9TH DECEMBER FROM 2PM
It’s summer time… that time for sun-loving afternoons soaking sweet sounds and what better treat than this one
A rare appearance by Jol Mulholland kicks things off. The now New York based mercurial record producer is back in town for studio work but steps out into the sunshine to air tunes from his fantastic 2011 album ‘Eugene Told Me You Were Dead’.
Lydia Cole brings band and string section in tow to weave some quiet magic of her own with tunes from the acclaimed ‘Me & Moon’ album - “one of the most complete and endearing recordings” heard by NZ Musician in a long time.
Playing into the dusk after everyone has had their fill of beer and BBQ is Auckland’s Great North They are one of the finest live group’s playing in the city right now. In fact, all three of these artists should rank as a must-see for fans of songcraft, musicianship and a fair dollop of surprising fun.
From Jol Mulholland’s quirky songcraft to the wry banter Lydia Cole injects between her heart-on-sleeve songs and the exhuberent harmonies of Great North, take a few hours away to really enjoy yourself on a Sunday.
