Zen Mantra is the New Zealand-based psychedelic-pop project of bedroom producer Sam Perry. Started with the musical philosophy of wanting to create music with the energy of punk, and the atmospheric qualities of psychedelic music Perry recorded debut album 'How Many Padmes Hum', mastered by Kody Nielson (Opossom) and released off of Muzai Records in November, with an international release via Stroll On Records (UK)/Crash Symbols (US) coming early next month. Zen Mantra has been described as s...ounding like a male-led Summer of Love girl group jamming surf rock in outer space.
Live, Perry is supported by a band made up of Charlie Ryder (Bang Bang Eche), Steven Marr (Ipswich/Doprah), Harry Guy (Hush House/Lucky Charms) and Elspeth Odum.
