Up-and-comers Trick Mammoth make endearing, off-kilter pop music. Combining fuzzy, jangling guitars, pretty lead vocals and evocative lyrics, the trio is soon to release their anticipated debut with Fishrider Records.
Guitar-driven beach-pop boys Males are also on the bill. Releasing their first EP MalesMalesMales in July 2012, followed by the single So High in November, Males have recently toured NZ with fellow local favourites Two Cartoons and Astro Children. These men are on their way to world domination, one sunny pop song at a time.
And starting the evening off are Death and The Maiden, a trio whove been garnering a following with their melodic, gauzy dance music.
This party also officially introduces the Chicks Hotel Magic Bus. Departing Countdown at 8:30pm, then leaving the University Library at 8:35pm and back into town around 1am, this bus features good vibes, warm fuzzies and on-bus serenades. And its FREE to ride with your 2013 Radio Onecard.
