There will be door-sales at the Wine Cellar for $10 when pre-sales sell out!
Dream-folk duo French for Rabbits have been quietly building a reputation for their sad yet brave songs. Since releasing their Tui nominated EP Claimed by the Sea in March 2012, they have gathered a dedicated fan-base around the globe with handwritten letters and home-assembled albums.
They are soon heading to Europe to swan about in France and perform shows in exotic places. So this concert is just a little something to say “au revoir” and “see you soon”. It also celebrates the release of their new single Goat, which was premiered in late May on BBC 6 in the UK. It is the first new material from the duo since their 2012 EP. The slow-burning song is a lament on stubbornness and being sorry. It was recorded in Wellington’s Blue Barn studio with producer David Parker of Little Monster Studio with the stunning video created by film-photographer and first time director Misma Andrews, and Ready! Steady Studio!
They will be joined for an early set at 8.30pm by Auckland band Paper Cranes. They tell stories through music- of daydreams, road trips, holidays, and everyday life. Beautiful harmonies abound, drawing comparisons to Fleet Foxes, and Beruit amongst others
