Gig Information

Rosy Parlane is a musician from Auckland who began playing music with the avant-garde rock trio Thela.

He subsequently began working with abstract electronic based music, both as a solo artist and as Parmentier with fellow Thela collaborator, Dion Workman.
His soundscapes are comprised of field recordings, pianos, guitars, household objects and other instruments manipulated via digital means.
Parlane has released four solo albums, originally on Sigma Editions, and more recently on Touch. Rosy's latest 7” Willow overflows with colour and just the right amount of crackle, cycling into itself and bubbling but never boiling.
Copies of Willow will be available for sale at this event.

Rachel Shearer’s experiments with audio feed into three overlapping areas of sound practice, each informing the other. The first is experimental music beginning decades ago with group releases on labels Xpressway, Flying Nun, Siltbreeze and solo releases with Corpus Hermeticum, Ecstatic Peace and Family Vineyard among others. The second is the collaborative process of enhancing moving image works through music or sound design. Thirdly through an art practice investigating sound as a physical material that can sculpt time and space, and a consideration of sound installation as a process of translation of broader critical and philosophical issues.
This show is the first testing of some raw experiments that are being developed for a new series of installations.

Sean O'Reilly has been fooling around with corroded electronics for longer than he would care to admit. He has recorded with Sferic Experiment, Olla, King Loser, Sandra Bell, Chug, Rachel Shearer, The Renderers and Dan Newham. In 2011, Dungeon Taxis released the solo project ghost pulse. Sean likes swimming.
