New Jersey native, Fade to Mind hot shot, and Qween beat boss, MikeQ is at the forefront of a new wave of Ballroom and Vogue-House on the East Coast that is attracting some serious global attention. A founding member of the Vogue Knights ball in NYC, MikeQ is at the cutting edge of an avant-garde that has roots in the Harlem ballroom scene of the 1980s. The scene has occasionally garnered mainstream exposure via Queen Latifah, Janet Jackson, Madonna, and the 1990 documentary Paris is Burning, but ballroom has no relics, only legends.
MikeQ is one of them, and his pace is relentless. Fresh off a European tour, a takeover of Sydney's Mardi Gras, a B2B Boilerroom workout with Brenmar, and a Ballroom special for Red Bull Music Academy, MikeQ rolls up to IVY Bar for his first ever appearance in NZ.
