Six Killer Promotions and SFBH present a celebration of local indie music, with showcase sets from three well-loved Wellington bands. And just to be extra nice, we’ve made it free!
Captain Sergeant Major are masters of controlled dynamics who craftily marry complex time signatures with undeniably infectious grooves. They’ve been variously described as the best New Zealand band you’ve never heard of and the future sound of Wellington – claims that might sound hyperbolic unless you’ve actually seen them live.
Force Fields specialise in danceable, pop-tinged indie rock, presenting songs both tightly arranged and sonically adventurous.Expect a high-energy set after a lenghty hiatus in the studio recording their sophomore album.
Beloved by hippies and hipsters alike, Seth Frightening's soulful and haunting melodies are, in a word, captivating. Hands down one of the best bands around.
Sandwiched between the acts, DJ Vanilla Prison’s selections will provide fittingly eclectic segues, and afterwards Harry Chronic Jr and Pants Party will demonstrate just what mayhem can ensue when two tall, skinny white boys get their hands on a crate of dirty 90s hip hop and play it to an audience who’ve figured out that drinking and dancing go together quite nicely, thank you very much.
