Maika
Is Mahinarangi Maika, a singer/songwriter specialising in writing, performing and recording her own music in Maori and English.
Maika pours heart and culture into her music that flows easily between the Maori and English languages, reflecting her cultural heritage, Aotearoa/New Zealand, in a style that blends reggae, soul, R & B, and jazz.
Maika belts out that musical language without reservation. She has the vocal power of Melissa Etheridge and the silky tones of Alicia Keys.
In 2012 Maika released her EP Sweet Life a collaboration including Joe Standeven, guitarist, Lisa Tagaloa, bassist, Audrey Hayman, percussion/drummer and Nick Brown, drummer.

Emma Davey & The Monks of Cool
With the tightest harmonies this side of the date line, this band makes your hair stand on end and your feet tap - It's a bit like the 80's but with better hair styles and less shoulder pads! Soul/Funk/Country/Blues ballads - even a touch of Reggae; All of their songs have a strong pop flavour with catchy hooks and pleasing melodies.
Well supported by The Monks of Cool, Emma's strong flexible vocals and the tight harmonies of backing vocalists Debra Rock-Evans and Fiona Buchet create an entertaining and enjoyable experience.

Julie Lamb Band
Performing live, singer/songwriter Julie Lamb is in her natural space - backed by a 12 piece band that has been referred to as having the energy of a 747 taking off - but more finesse, the band performs songs from Lamb's albums Most and Least and Trippin' the Light.
Their sound is described as Not Celine Dion!
Trippin' has won a fair few accolades, garnered some great reviews and is now played on a few dozen international radio stations.
This band have been Artist of the Month on New York radio stations, won accolades in the Netherlands, feature on 4 compilation albums in the UK, USA and Australia, and Michael Mccormack has used the song Time Flies in his newly released documentary.
Recently the Waterproof Video Release has garnered more attention for the band - and has them on several more international sites.
Come and have a listen to the music; read some reviews and check out some photos and videos; You can find all of that and album purchase links at http://www.julielamb.co.nz/
BUT EVEN BETTER! You can find them playing at being airplanes at KING STREET LIVE on 21st September!
