Its true, Delaney Davidson and Marlon Williams are playing in Rotorua! The 'Sad But True' Tour is once again playing in saloons, outhouses, barns, halls and porches up and down the country. A nationwide tour, managed and sponsored by Arts on Tour NZ and presented by Rotorua's own, The Rogue Stage.
The famed, feral and ferocious duo, recorded 'Sad but True – The Secret History of Country Music Songwriting Vol. 1’ and has been awarded the RIANZ Best Country Album Tui while the single ‘Bloodletter’ is awarded the APRA Best Country Song 2013. Delaney Davidson is no stranger to the APRA Best Country Song accolade, having won the award last year for his ballad “You’re A Loser”.
Both Marlon and Delaney tour extensively abroad and this is a rare opportunity to witness great NZ music. The youthful vocal abundance of Marlon, mixed with the darker, bluesy tones of Delaney, give this duo its energy and having seen them perform in various shows and venues, I can truly say, I have witness the best.
Their outstanding performance as part of the Grand Ole Hayride in Rotorua - Casa Blanca, 18 Oct - certainly gained them a local following. Requests for albums and signed posters have not stopped!
