Tristen Bird announces Brushfire Moon New Zealand Tour
Melbourne country/folk musician Tristen Bird is pleased to announce his first New Zealand tour: a massive 11-date endeavor with a unique focus on the South Island.
Bird will be touring to promote his second album titled ‘Brushfire Moon’ on his first trip around the country, which features only two North Island dates. Keeping true to his country/folk storytelling, the tour focuses on the heart of the South Island, arguably the country music hub of New Zealand.
“I’m feeling incredibly inspired about coming to New Zealand to perform for the first time and to meet new audiences. I’m currently on tour in Australia refining my set for next month and getting tour fit in time for NZ, I think that’s really important.”
Brushfire Moon is Tristen’s second studio album release following his debut Horse to Water in 2011. In 2013 Bird released the EP titled ‘Different keys for different locks’ which was a introduction to the new album including alternate versions and a single.
“Brushfire Moon is almost a photo album of my experiences on the road touring over the last three years. It’s at times fictional, but mostly based on real life stories throughout my musical travels.”
Drawing inspiration from Australia’s history and its landscapes, Brushfire Moon features a heavy weight cast of the Australian roots music scene and is currently under production with ARIA- winning Musician Shane Nicholson (Kasey Chambers, Angie Hart, Beccy Cole). More Hank Williams than Clint Eastwood, Tristen shares his stories with the audience in a sincere and emotive manner, and welcomes players from across the musical divide to bring the tales to life.
