PURE CONCRETE:
The difference, the similarities, the interaction of two.
In an attempt to enable a link between acousmatic teachings and a receptive audience, Jon Drypnz, the curating artist, will provide a structure to preform within.
The restriction of the provided structure is a constant, the audience is a variable, the teacher is a variable. The structure stands to inhibit. The structure stands to restrict a sense, allowing sound to hold precedent .
This structure is staged as a controlled situation, a comfort zone, it is meant as a platform to differentiate the audience and the teacher.
Teaching behind a sheet allows pure interaction, limited distractions, a deprivation of senses to highlight the awareness of self, both in the teacher (The teacher is in an obvious place to be seen as an individual / spectacle) and the audience. To understand further, the audience must make a conscious effort to gain information, this is based on individual choice, putting ones self in a position that makes them a spectacle, entering an in between space, blurring the line between audience and teacher.
