Gig Information

Moonshine Method is an engaging and delightful evening curated by Raji that features specifically picked performances by up and coming underground bands/singer songwriters of varying genres and art exhibits. Experience the vibrant richness of NZ independent art and music you might be missing out on with good brews and nectars at The Wine Cellar.

The show will feature Alexander Wildwood, White Rabbit Black Monkey, and Kittens of the Internet cranking the underground. A preshow art exhibit will feature works for sale by Missi Moretz from doors open 8pm to 8.30pm + spoken word by Rebecca.

Alexander Wildwood.
That name is one you should know by now. You don’t' Well shame on you. Though Alex himself would chuckle without concern, I might take a slight offence. A multi instrumentalist self producer who’s tunes are crawling all around all kinds of charts including the air space beyond 20,000 feet, Wildwood and his band are recognised for opening the Boy & Bear tour and just recently for Counting Crows. Alexander Wildwood was raised on the seas, sailing the world on a yacht as a boy to a soundtrack of Neil Young and The Beach Boys. And it is by the sea that his music was born. In a home studio only moments from the beach on New Zealand’s picturesque East Coast, the songwriter and producer (PleasePlease, The Heart of Katherine) is creating a new noise inspired by his surroundings. Something new, epic, huge, and tasty is happening here. Come and be part of it.

Kittens of the Internet
“Dear KOTI, please can you pause your mesmerizing haunting awesomeness just for a moment so we can catch our breath...only just for a short moment. That’s all. Thank you” - Sincerely lonely wolves and hound dogs. Kittens of the Internet are an electronic dream-pop band currently recording their EP due out this year in summer 2015. They first came to attention for the release of their song ‘Living The Dream’ in 2013 with a Silver Scroll nomination and making it to the finals for the Vanda & Young Competition. The duo consists of Mahuia Bridgman-Cooper and Katie Scott based in Auckland, New Zealand. Quickly tracking their way through the underground scene, surely soon to become the regular utterance among music critics and purveyors of the fine audible kind. Personally I’ve raped my play button excessively finding myself attuned to Katie’s warm voice and tight grooves the KOTI crew have written. Among NZ pop that’s getting attention, KOTI have raised their hands and are standing up to be noticed pumping out pure 100% NZ music created by Katie Scott and Mahuia Bridgman-Cooper. Find them on spotify, bandcamp, youtube, soundcloud, the audience, and …. at Moonshine Method.

White Rabbit Black Monkey
...is an open collaboration space for a range of creative musicians and performers with: “a blending pot of styles, currently presented in a smoky rootsy acoustic folk format as black downtempo folk!” An outlet primarily for visualising struggle, persistence in spite, of perseverance, doubt, dark places, political protest, among other themes. An expression of the sound and resonance of the human effort. Joined by the fellas Robert Picot and Cam Roots.

Exhibit by: Missi Moretz
I still rate Waynes World 10/10.I'm an experimental artist who enjoys space related memorabilia, orange chocolate chip ice cream and zombie brides. I'm from Auckland and support riot grrrl, vegan cosmetics and doing whatever you feel like.
