Three of Christchurch's finest come together next Saturday night to perform live in Christchurch's most intimate venue, the Darkroom.
SKYMACHINE
Blending together falsetto melodies and glamorous beats, Skymachine is the alt-pop act led by Christchurch local Brydon. Originally formed when a friend needed a band to play a show at a local venue, Skymachine developed around an old MPC and some 808 samples.
Recently the band released their first single, ‘Getaway’, recorded at The Sitting Room in Lyttelton with engineer Ben Delaney, and is now finishing off a second stint of recording, due out soon.
INDIGO WOLF
Indigo Wolf and his band play songs about love (some unrequited), the End of the World, awkward High School dances, the decline of the Roman Republic, the Queen's opinion of Scottish English, and the legal status of Werewolves as well as other mythological creatures.
SCHOFIELD SPIRES
Drawing influences from Wilco, Radiohead, Ryan Adams, Father John Misty, Volcano Choir, and The National, Schofield Spires has been through more name changes than most, and their indie country sound is catchy and clever.
