Australia's TENSIONS ARISE are making a massive start to 2016 with supporting SEVENDUST (USA) in Sydney then embarking on their Debut Album Tour for the release of A Breath of Aggression. The Unleashing The Aggression Tour Sees the band make their Debut in New Zealand alongside one of the Countries best acts 8 FOOT SATIVA!

So be sure to mark the calendar! A night at the KINGS ARMS with 8 FOOT SATIVA, TENSIONS ARISE (AUS), BROKEN SEASON and HEADROLLER! Full of energy & the brutal intensity these bands are famous for.

8 Foot Sativa

8 Foot Sativa need no introduction with their strong history of being one of New Zealand’s founding NZ Metal bands. Their ferocity as a live act leaves a deep footprint where ever they tread. 8 Foot Sativa have survived the test of time and still to this day hold the title of the “Heavy Weights “of New Zealand Heavy Metal.
8 Foot Sativa have punished the stage with top international bands such as Pantera, Fear Factory, Korn, SOAD, Motorhead, Soulfly, Slipknot, Disturbed and Corrosion of Conformity. Their music has been featured on Monster Garage, Crusty Demons, MTV and in the movie “The Locals”.
8 Foot Sativa’s first two albums, “Hate Made Me & Season for Assault”, threw them into the spotlight by achieving gold record status in New Zealand, still a feat that has not been achieved by any other metal artist in New Zealand. Charting in the New Zealand Top 40 was the next blow to mainstream music with 8 Foot Sativa soon becoming a household name with a cult following.
Critics said “A metal band breaking into the NZ Top 40 will never be repeated”...Wrong!
8 Foot Sativa have released their new album “The Shadow Masters” once again entering the NZ Top 40 at position number 5 and at position number 2 on the Indie charts. Globally the album has received over 60 reviews in the short time it has been out, the response has been overwhelming and 8FS have quickly followed up their album release with the first video from the new album featuring the title track “Shadow Masters”.
8 Foot Sativa are New Zealand’s hardest working and most toured act. 8 Foot Sativa are a band with integrity, they are polished, professional and they deliver one hell of a live show.

Tensions Arise Facebook:

Formed in the ashes of prominent Sydney Metal bands in 2008 Tensions Arise are a power house of Melodic Brutal Metal ‘done right’. With their groove induced melodic cruelty, the Sydney based four-piece built a sound of their own which quickly distinguished them as forerunners in their home city. After a lengthy wait, the mystery of Tensions Arise came to extreme fruition as the inaugural performance in January 2010 brought a torn industry together in a rage of hoarse growls, thunderous guitars, wrapped together by a previously unexperienced stage presence.
They are no strangers to sharing the stage with International Acts and 2016 is no different supporting SEVENDUST in Australia just before heading on tour for their 1st full length Studio album for the release of A Breath of Aggression. The Unleashing The Aggression Tour. Other notable International shows in 2016 have also included opening for Fear Factory and they will be opening for Drowning Pool later in the year. 2012 saw them play in New York while in USA Recording alongside Logan Mader (Ex-Machinehead) for STAND IN DEFIANCE Which the band is giving away FREE Copies at the show! They also went to Japan in 2014 on a sold out tour alongside heavyweights in THE BLACK DAHLIA MURDER & FLESHGOD APOCALYPSE. Local support shows in Sydney, have seen them supporting (hed) P.E & Jeffrey Nothing (mushroomhead) & Soilwork.
Tensions Arise have been featured in and had previous live reviews and music reviews in leading Metal publications and webzines including Heavy Mag and Metal as Fuck.

BROKEN SEASON Facebook

Broken Season are currently celebrating the release of their first EP with the current lineup. WAKE UP THE FALLEN which is made up of an atmospheric introduction featuring the infamous speech by Charlie Chaplin from the movie The Great Dictator, followed by 6 powerful songs which could easily be the soundtrack to a revolution. With songs about the Waco Siege (51 Days) and the war on drugs (Vilified) with other tracks touching on the War on Terror, Drone Attacks, Brian Tamaki and the Salem Witch Trials. Broken Season have a wide range of influences and backgrounds which show in the EP and also show their musical versatility with heavy metal drums, deep growls through to clean vocals and Spanish rapping. Broken Season aren’t afraid to do things their own way. They also know how to perform, despite being a 3 piece they have a massive sound:

They are a 5 or 500 type of band, the show is going to be the same high energy, bruising set regardless of how many people show up. They have a classic NY / LA Hardcore sound reminiscent of DOWNSET and BIOHAZARD, and I dread to think of the damage these three fellas could do if they played to a full house. This is the soundtrack to a riot, and their shouts of “Fuck the System” really drive home the excitement, they have got groove, grunt, balls and anger. In an age of Death and Technical Metal, BROKEN SEASON bring a fresh and energizing sound.

HEAD ROLLER

A four piece Heavy Metal outfit, formed early 2015 hailing from Hibiscus Coast north of Auckland.
Gaining their influences from all four corners of the underground music scene, combining Punk, Hardcore, Thrash, Death and everything in between, delivering their own unique brand, of high energy, extreme music.
Spawning fans of all ages from various musical backgrounds.
The energy of their live performance is reflected by the outbreak of mosh pits and relentless head banging, leaving crowds with an unforgettably, brutalizing experience.
Supporting international acts, such as The Exploited (UK) and playing alongside some of the finest bands New Zealand has to offer, HeadRoller are set to make their mark in the NZ music scene.
Beginning recordings for their debut album in mid 2016, this is a band to keep our eyes on, a must for avid music fans and metal heads alike.
