Modular Winter
Junk DNA presents a night of modular mayhem at The Pyramid Club. We have 3 diverse acts, all incorporating modular synthesisers into their live sets.
There will be an awesome opportunity for interested people to have a play on some of the systems on headphones between sets.
Selective Yellow :
Selective Yellow are Chris Wilson and James Noble, an experimental improvising electronic music duo based in Wellington, New Zealand, drawing on New Zealand's heritage of experimental music practice. Selective Yellow performances employ a number of different synthesizers or sound generators, ranging from digital toys (Kaosscilators, Buddhamachines, littleBits) to modular analogue and MIDI digital synthesizers, played with a variety of controllers (wind controllers, monome grids, knob boxes etc). For Modular Winter we'll play Eurorack modular, the littleBits music kit, theremin, M.as Model OSC03, Drone Jar, Pocket Operators, MS-20 and 8-bit synth.

J Precursor :
J Precursor is an experimental sound artist that creates sonic works using analogue modular synthesizers. He is influenced by noise music, electro-acoustic music tradition, microsounds and the art of guqin music. This convergence results in works that traverse between the extremes of musical time scales, and often blurring rhythmic rigidness and smear the unwavering radiance of melodies.

E.I.E.D. :
E.I.E.D. - The first performance of a new solo project, obsessed with sonic textures, noise sculpture and dark ambience. Centered around modular synth experiments, digital glitching, found sound, and field recordings within a ritual framework. Or not. Who knows.
