Fronted by eclectic saxophonist-multi-instrumentalist Oscar Laven, The Neo Hot Jive Orchestra is a bold, brash monster of a jazz orchestra built from 16 of Wellington's biggest baddasses.
This jazz orchestra is dedicated to spontaneous-spirited performances of hard-grooving fresh New Zealand compositions, both instrumental and vocal (featuring Emma Wollum) in a style derivative of classic big band era music, the odd contemporary-facing work, and a small ever-changing selection of era-defining covers.
