GOOD GIGS: Go With The Flow

Sat Sep 10th, 2016

Doors open: 8:00pm
Entry: R18

Good Gigs Presents: Go With The Flow A Fundraiser for KidsCan who in addition to many great things, can provide sanitary items for many low decile schools around the country. This improves access for girls who may otherwise have to miss school or improvise with phonebooks, newspaper etc when they have their period.

Joining us will be :

~~Eyes no Eyes~~

~~ Being. (Solo) ~~

~~D B L D B L~~

+ DJs (Zac Arnold / Liam BADWEDDINGMUSIC Heath & more)

+ Bake sale

+/- BBQ

$10 on the door

All the money raised on the night will go to KidsCan who are able to buy these items in bulk for cheaper, & supply them to schools. Not being able to afford these items is preventing periods from being a normal part of some girls lives, and this is not ok!

Schoolgirls in New Zealand are skipping class because they cannot afford sanitary pads and are being forced to use phonebooks, newspapers and rags to make-do during menstruation. - The Guadrian

Theres something in the air, (possibly a general distrust for our government to be proactive enough about this ridiculous social injustice, but I dont know, I could just be speaking for myself) so this is not the only way to support the cause on this night, if youre extra keen to support this important issue on your saturday night you could also head along to Super Rad Babes Present: The Bloodening! before/after/whenever you want.

Thanks Golden Dawn: Tavern of Power for supporting us to put on this event! & to all the bands, sound people, volunteers etc who are contributing their time & skills to help out.

Beautiful poster made by the even more beautiful and talented Liam Heath Dargaville.
