Three years since the release of their last album, zero-one, Christchurch atmospheric-rock trio Troika are back with a new release titled My brain is a receiver.
Sonically following on in a similar fashion to the largely instrumental zero-one, the band has nonetheless reintroduced more of a focus on vocal-led melodies, with all three members contributing. The songwriting again journeys between quiet, melodic mood-pieces to longer, dynamic passages that build to a crashing 'wall of sound' crescendo.
They're joined on the night by fellow art-noise veterans No Broadcast and instrumental prog-alt rockers Möbius, paying a rare visit to Christchurch especially for the occasion. All three bands also feature as part of the 2017 Riverrange Music Festival lineup in January at Cromwell.
Entry is $10 or $15 w/CD and merchandise will be available on the night.
