Strange & Co. and Stolen Spirits are amped to bring you another massive event. This time it's the flowing vocals, effortless production and unique live performance of Estère. Free the planner, this one isn't worth missing.
Estère is a producer with an MPC she calls Lola. With Lola, Estère samples, records and composes layers of bass, synth, drums, guitar, vocal harmonies, percussion, kazoo, cutlery drawers, buses, bamboo trees and anything else that takes her fancy, into pulsating rhythms and evocative melodies that adhere to her genre dubbed Electric Blue Witch-Hop.
Drawing inspiration from the evolution of reptiles, current socio-political events, concepts of identity and the benevolence of whales amongst other things, Estère delivers her songs with a voice that has been described as rich toned and elastic.
Onstage Estère is joined by a number of different machine and instrument personalities she terms ‘her band’. Together they create a distinctive, high energy showcase of what happens when music mixes with the imagination. Acclaimed as being a one-of-a-kind performer, Estère’s reputation for unique and energetic performances has seen her open for an array of international artists including Erykah Badu, Flume, Kitty Daisy & Lewis, Aloe Blacc, Baths, Morcheeba and KT Tunstall. She has performed on international stages in cities and festivals through-out Australia, South Korea, Denmark, New Caledonia, UK, Europe and Africa.
In October 2013 Estère spent two weeks collaborating in the studio with D.C/New York producer Oddisee as part of the Red Bull Prodigy project. They subsequently released three songs: Flashlight, Curtains Down and Noon.
In April 2014 Estère released her debut self produced album via Bandcamp and released the album in Europe in April 2015 with tastemaker label No Format. That year she also released a remix EP titled 'New Species'.
Estère is due to release her self-produced sophomore album mid 2017 and has just recently completed a tour around Africa, Australia, France and the UK.
