This January the new wave pop duo, GROMz and The Shambles, are coming out of their Dunedin hibernation to bring their unique sounds to the rest of NZ. Beginning with a cluster of shows in Central Otago, the two bands will be making their way northward up the country playing at a combination of bars, house parties, and wineries on the backdrop of a scorching NZ summer. With tight tones and energy that complements one another, The Shambles and GROMz live show is not to be missed!
GROMz: Self described salt rock/grom pop. A relatively fresh entrance into the Dunnerz music scene, GROMz's success would lead anyone to believe they had been around for a long time. Their debut album ‘Two and a Half Days’, recorded in Port Chalmers, has been picked up and bashed around the globe, peaking at number 8 on the global Spotify viral charts. Keep an ear out for the seductively smooth voice of Semisi Maiai, the band’s frontman.
The Shamblés: Confining the music produced by The Shambles to a singular genre would be like trying to describe what cuisine humans eat to aliens. Combining pop-bangers with soul, jazz and disco steez, let them take your eardrums on a space odyssey. The Shambles are a five-piece ensemble who meet and made musical love in the deep south, Dunedin. Catch them on tour playing tunes from their newly released album ‘Hungry Planet”.
