Rock'n'roll Fundraising Gig for Kaikoura Earthquake Relief

Waiheke was fortuunate enough to totally avoid the recent earthquakes that rattled the country and in particular, caused mayhem in Kaikoura. It's a new year and people in the small tourist industry town arev still suffering. The least we can do is show we care, raise a little money to help them out, and have a great rock'n'roll party to do it!
On January 14, the Waiheke Dirt Track will be hosting four acts guarranteed to get your ear buds jangling, and your bodies rocking.
Skinny Hobos - are a 2-piece Alternative Rock band from Auckland and are fresh off touring with Devilskin. These guys make ar more noise than any two people should and need to be seen to be believed. “The two impress with the gritty and full rock sound they produce with two instruments, fine harmonies and just how much fun they have on stage.” - [NZ Musician Magazine].
We are also lucky enough to be able to have Dead Favours, a band expected to make an impact in 2017. A rock'n'roll band from Auckland with members originating from bands including Steriogram, Fire at Will, Bloodnut, Eqwanox, and The Wreckage, they have been likened to QoTSA, The Black Keys, Them Crooked Vultures and Arctic Monkeys. They have just returned from Melbourne where they have been recording with Tom Larkin (from Shihad).
Representing Waiheke will be the islands rattiest old school punks Best Left Bent. Featuring the legend that is Zinc Alloy (who also plays for Wellington rockers Vas Deferenz), their scuzzy rock'n'roll sound will shake this island a little!
And last but not least, we have the icon that is Fats White. Fats is hard to describe, but once you have experienced his brand of art punk, you will never forget it. Fats has been in numerous bands and has released four albums on Aucklands Powertool Records. His acheivents bizarrely include scoring the fastest rising number one position in the Australian Country and Western top 40 charts 2015 with the song Midnite Cowboys.
This gig will be an early start due to the nature of the venue and will be over by 9pm. Food will be available for purchase.
