Christchurch based indie rock outfit August Fields are ecstatic to release the first single from their forthcoming EP.
Anyone who has seen one of August Fields’ high energy shows will know that they bring to the stage crowd-engaging power pop tunes with solid grooves and soulful, soaring vocals.
Touring to promote their debut, self titled EP, August Fields bring a set of fresh and engaging songs that fuse the styles and influences of the individual members who hail from South Africa, Scotland and New Zealand. Building on the momentum of the BoxFresh Live! unplugged sessions in June and following a live spot on the Breeze, August Fields hit the studio in August to record their debut EP with the backing of a successful crowdfunding campaign.
Although not conceived in a field, and not any time in August, August Fields consists of four members from very different parts of the world, each being able to call on their unique cultural and musical experience. With musical backgrounds as diverse as church gospel performance, Scottish indie band Dead Sea Souls, Wellington alt-folk band Penfold and Swiss based world-renowned Top Secret Drum Corps, each member brings individual ideas and songs to the band, with the group as a whole adding its twist and tone to it.
