Kicking off the Portobello Blues Festival 2017 is the Stevie Ray Vaughan Tribute Concert on Friday night. The Portobello Coronation Hall will heave to the sounds of Dunedin't own Bulletproof Convertible to lead the way, getting people tap toing before the main act - the Stevie Ray Vaughan Tribute Concert performed by Auckland-based Tony Painting & the Power. Their success follows them as band extraordinaire, re-enacting the great Legend himself.

Background
The Portobello Blues Festival is a three-day programme of concerts, workshops, a market, open mic sessions and the all-new Talent Quest. It will be held in the various Portobello and Bays venues and will take place for the second time in 2017. A Street Food Village will be set up at Latham Park next to the Coronation Hall, in Portobello.
Portobello and Bays will come alive with fantastic local and international musical talent including: Stafford Murray (UK), Tony Painting & the Power (Auckland), JT One Good Eye Auckland), Strait Shooters (Hawks Bay, Wellington and Portobello), King Leo & the Generators, Bluestone(Dunedin), Terry Ebeling and many more.

Stevie Ray Vaughan Tribute (Friday Night) $40 pre-sales, $48 door sales, $32 seniors/students
Saturday Night Concert $40 pre-sales, $48 door sales, $32 seniors/students
Saturday Night Cosy Concert $25 pre-sales, $35 door sales, $20 seniors/students
Festival Pass* $80, $50 seniors/students

Under 18s are not eligible to attend the above evening concerts. ID will be asked at the door.
Festival Pass entitles the bearer to attend any of the concerts and workshops free of charge and to catch the Blues Cruise transportation on Friday and Saturday night.
** Seniors = 65 years and over. Seniors and students must provide ID.
The organisers reserve the right of refusal.
