Ben Salters love affair with Aoteoroa continues this February, culminating in a show at the Wine Cellar where he once played before about ten years ago, with his old friend and sparring partner Dominic Hoey aka Tourettes aka Dominic Hoey aka Pomes.
Ben Salter is well known in Australia through his work with a diverse array of bands and projects including The Gin Club, Giants of Science, The Wilson Pickers, Vandemonian Lags, The Young Liberals and Hownowmer, although hes most commonly found pushing his esoteric folk/rock/whatever solo schtick on people across Australia and the world. A genre-hopping songwriters songwriter, Salter has written, recorded and performed alongside artists such as Gareth Liddiard (The Drones), Mick Thomas (Weddings Parties Anything), Tim Rogers (You Am I), Marlon Williams, Liam Finn. He has supported acts such as J Mascis, Built to Spill, Counting Crows and many many others.
Tourettes and Salter first met in a remote corner of Iceland at an artists residency in 2012. They have since become firm friends and performed together many times.
