Come on down to Re:Fuel for the St Patrick's Day Special.
A night of awesome music from REO, Julian Temple and Johnny Appleby
REO:
The name REO means voice or language which is a nod to the diverse backgrounds of the 8 members in this Dunedin based band.
The band members are Cook Island, European, Maori and Samoan and REO play a wide range of songs in the genre of reggae, rock, pop and old school.
In their short career so far they have won the Dunedin regional battle of the bands competition and have most recently supported ‘Katchafire’ during their tour of the South Island.
REO are famous for their tireless sets where they effortlessly roll from song to song, once the dancing starts it’s hard to stop.
REO's Journey has just only begun and they are aiming for the moon, so that at least if they don’t get there, they will be among the stars.
Julian Temple:
Julian Temple Band formed in Dunedin, New Zealand in February, 2004. They have independently recorded and released five albums; In Sea (2006), Quiet Earth (2009), Balance Escapes (2010), Upsidedownbackwards (2012) and Ceiling In The Sky (2015). Within a week of its release, Ceiling In The Sky debuted on the Official New Zealand Music Chart at #3. The band have toured extensively across New Zealand, Australia and the USA.
Julian Temple Band conjures a spirit somewhere between the Red Hot Chili Peppers and a gypsy caravan which, having started off jamming American songs, ended up lost in a desert, found some cactus juice and jumped on another horse entirely. - Shane Gilchrist, ODT, NZ
Johnny Appleby:
Johnny Appleby is a Waitati raised, half Trinidadian - songwriter.
Taking inspiration from society, politics and the natural environment Johnny creates songs across a broad range of genres
