‘The Woods’ are a local quartet, playing original instrumental music.
Their influences are broad, from Jazz artists like Pharoah Sanders and Henry Threadgill, to the Highlife music of Zimbabwe, Peruvian mountain music, Ethio Jazz... Members of ‘The Woods’ feature in a number of other prominent NZ bands; Little Bushman, The Pheonix Foundation, Teeth, The Bones.
Their debut EP ‘Manyana’ was released in 2014, with a new release due later this year.
