Jazz group High Society have been described as a Grab bag across the decades, a potted-history of modern music in cabaret style. Just like the Bebop Cats of the 40's, the swing guys, and popular ensemble players, these players take showtunes and make it their own.
Bassist Mike Duffy says, Jazz is about breaking down and defying expectations and the High Society Jazz Group are heavily rooted in that tradition, taking elements harking right back to the 1920's and creating a classic post-modern smoothie.
