Gig Information

New Zealand is the Mountain of Flower & Fruit, and Auckland the post-modern Water Curtain Cave. Here, Wukong makes his home. Travelling through space, his consciousness has entered the hole in the Ozone layer above the South Pacific. With Wukong’s arrival, our collective musical dimension swings, grooves and rocks with the soul of a legend born from stone.

Connected through sounds, the catharsis of cosmic energy is like a supernova. When elements amalgamate in the Earth, our society is nothing but Taishang Laojun's alchemical furnace. The vibration of music, nothing but Wukong’s penetrating insight. Everything seem divided, yet everything is nothing more than resonance in the boundless universe...

In January 2017, Wukong the Monkey King 悟空 recorded an album with Yang Haisong (Maybe Mars, Pk.14) in the basement of a derelict shopping mall in Beijing. Three days of recording resulted in this 12 song collection.

To celebrate the physical CD release of WUKONG 悟空, Wukong the Monkey King 悟空 is throwing a party on Saturday 24 June at Golden Dawn: Tavern of Power

Siobhan Leilani - Jazz-Funk-Hip Hop fusion
Minority Rights - Chinese Symphonic Metal
