After 3 months of banishment from music for reasons known to few, Ponsonby fuckboy punks Scared of Girls are returning to the Thirsty Dog Tavern on K' Rd - the very same venue where in May 2017 they let loose their last shambolic performance. Only one thing is for certain when they take the stage: no time will be wasted in getting back to the business of mansplaining their problematic love lives and fear of the fairer sex, one catchy surfgaragepunkrock anthem at a time.
This time, they'll be supporting local heroes Quinn the Human, whose unique blend of psychedelic rock and sexy alternative blues is best described as two parts Jurassic Park, three parts Sylvester Stallone (Pre Balboa, with energy to burn). Last year they unleashed thunderous debut single 'Gutterfingers', and also went on tour around New Zealand with rock legends Skinny Hobos.
Also taking the stage will be newcomers Mini Simmons, bringing you erotic and explosive rock and roll played with a loose nod to the 60's, and dreamt up on the Pacific Highway of Mexico. It's like dissolving a handful of tabs in a bottle of bourbon and watching a small child polish the lot..
Entry is $5 on the door - that's only $1.67 a band and $0.38 a performer! What a bloody bargain! Come along from 8pm, first band will be on after 9.
