On the 8th of December Themeta, Troika and Mechanalog will bring you an eclectic night of post rock and fusion music from 8:30pm at the darkroom.
Drawing from a range of influences including Snarky Puppy and the Headhunters, Themeta melds rock and jazz with a heavy dose of funk.
Troika is an atmospheric-experimental rock 3-piece from Christchurch, New Zealand. Their sound ranges from gentle and atmospheric passages to dynamic, intense walls of distortion and feedback.
Evolving through various iterations, the mercurial Mechanalog lineup currently finds Chris Wetheys unique voice and multi-instrumentalism blending with Tom Harris textural synthwizardry. With jazz and electronic influences this music is beyond label but seeks out nostalgia and longing, through a sometimes cavernous, sometimes deeply groove- based aesthetic.
